Santa Barbara, CA — [October 27, 2011] — Maps.com's website is buzzing this morning after its products
were featured on a National breakfast news show.
ABC's Good Morning America included several maps and globes supplied by the company out of its
Santa Barbara, California home.
The 'Secret Deals' feature is a weekly segment that highlights products with a seasonal or connected
theme. This week, it was the turn of the News Anchors to recommend their favorites, and Los Angeles
native Josh Elliot is a self-confessed map-a-holic.
The show included a number of Globes as well as Maps of World and United States Wall maps, plus a
selection of historic maps reproduced from Library of Congress historic materials.
"The response has so far been amazing," revealed Director of Marketing Rob Burns. "In a world where
electronic mapping is so accessible, the public enthusiasm for a printed, tangible product is as strong as
ever. Many, many viewers have called us simply to express their excitement about the range of products
we offer."
The feature was especially relevant for Maps.com, as Josh Elliot is a graduate of a local high school and
UCSB, whose campus is only a short distance from the company's head office in Goleta.
Viewers receive an exclusive discount when they shop through a special Good Morning America landing
page which has seen high traffic since the show first aired on the East Coast. Viewers who can't find
exactly what they are looking for can also shop the thousands of Maps, Globes, Games, Puzzles, Atlases
and Travel Guides available throughout the site.
Offers run until Friday, October 28 at Midnight PST.
