Did you know?
As we travel from one Major League Baseball stadium to the next, we are really enjoying how each stadium is completely different and has its own character, history, and architecture. Here are a few of the unusual facts about Citi Field that we found especially interesting.

Jackie Robinson Rotunda
As the first step in this effort, the Mets and Citi commissioned a sculpture and named the entry rotunda of Citi Field – inspired by the classic design of Ebbets Field – in honor of Jackie Robinson, the legendary pioneer and great American who broke baseball’s color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. The partnership aims to recognize and perpetuate, in and around the rotunda and the community, Robinson’s legacy and the “nine values” he embodied as articulated by his daughter and Jackie Robinson Foundation Vice Chair, Sharon Robinson: courage, integrity, determination, persistence, citizenship, justice, commitment, teamwork, and excellence.

Thoughts from James

They had the best burgers and shakes at the “shake shack” worth the wait in line! We had heard from folks on the subway that the shake shack was not to be missed and they were right!! If you go to Citi Field get there early and go to the shake shack not just for shakes, the burgers are delicious! The big apple in center field is cool, and comes up on home runs! James
Christie’s Thoughts
Take the subway to the stadium – it’s worth it! Good food and a fun crowd! The field is nice and the seats were comfortable!Christie
