Did you know?

As we travel from one Major League Baseball stadium to the next, we are really enjoying how each stadium is completely different and has its own character, history, and architecture. Here are a few of the unusual facts about Target Field that we found especially interesting.

Facts Unique to
Target Field

CATCH

CATCH is a new exclusive club at Target Field featuring great views of the field, unparalleled access to the latest technology, and a vibrant entertainment experience. This new premium space is all-inclusive with beverages and a variety of tapas-style foods that will put a fresh twist on the ballpark dining experience. CATCH has a capacity of 120 and is only available on a season-ticket basis.

Running the Bases

  • After every Sunday home game, the Twins invite all guests aged 14 and under to run the bases, courtesy of Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.

STATS

  • Capacity: 38,871 fans
  • Mascot: T.C.
  • Opening Day Inaugural game: April 12th, 2010 against the Red Sox

Pitcher’s Park

Target Field has often been referred to as a “pitcher’s park” in that it is difficult for batters to hit home runs, and the pitcher has an advantage. Twins star Justin Morneau spoke for many of the players’ concerns by calling “right-center to left-center… ridiculous” and that it is “almost impossible for a right-handed hitter to [homer to the] opposite field and very difficult for lefties”

Thoughts from James

Target field is new and nice. The seats are big and padded! It was easy to get into the stadium, no lines and easy to get around to the food, stores and bathrooms. The scoreboard is BIG and clear!”James
