Herodotus wrote of Egypt, "—nowhere are there so many marvelous things, nor in the whole world beside are there to be seen so many works of unspeakable greatness." Explore the beauty, mystery, and wonder of the fertile Nile Valley and the great civilizations it supported in this compelling map which accompanied the article "Yankee Cruises the Storied Nile" published in May 1965. Loaded with an abundance of interesting facts about the history and geography of the region, it was originally published as half of a set. The second half, "Your Introduction to Ancient Egypt" contains an index of this map as well as an introduction to the history of this ancient land.

• Insets of the Egyptian Empire 1450 B.C., the Theban Area, the Pyramids of Giza, and Khartoum

I have the Wallzilla map posted on my homeschool classroom wall. The print is clear and colors are vivid. Application was a cinch. I'm am thrilled with the abundance of facts scattered around the map. My only disappointment is that the length of the Nile is split in half and the southern part is placed next to the northern portion. I have young learners who dont visualize the arrangement well. I saw this in the images, but had imagined that the map would come in two pieces that I would align, one on top of the other, when placed on the wall. I could still trim the border and cut the portions apart, but I hesitate to cut such a nice map.
